Drivin My Life Away In Naples
Located on the southern Gulf Coast of “The Sunshine State”, Naples, Florida is a community with class, sophistication, and a terrific dose of leisurely living. Naples just seems to progress at a slower pace than a number of the other resort towns along Florida’s coast. The city boasts galleries, sophisticated boutiques and bistros that are a few of the greatest in the area, as well as outdoor interests and activities. The family oriented guest activities of Orlando and Daytona are replaced in Naples by beaches, fishing, shopping, and golf.
Naples has a surprising number of beach vacation rentals and golf courses, given its fairly small size. Most of the courses can be discovered in the suburbs, although the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club, in the center of Naples, provides a reasonably challenging 18 holes. Reservations for a tee time should be made well in advance.
The Eagle Lakes Golf Club in Naples is centrally located and is regarded as one of the more desirable community courses in the area. The 18-hole course features 7,150 yards to play, from the longest tees, and has a par of 71. The course was founded in 2006 by Bruce Devlin.
The Links of Naples was originated in 2000 and was designed by Signature Golf. Signature continues to run the 18-hole course. The Links has 4,000 yards of golf and a par of 61. The course rating is 58.7 and reviews indicate that the night golf option is especially popular as the entirety of the course is illuminated for night play.
A short distance away, the Golf Club at Fiddler’s Creek presents guests 7,157 yards of play on 18 holes. The course was designed by Arthur Hills and opened in 2002. The general manager is Ron Albeit and feedback for the course are very positive.
Ten miles from the center of Naples, the Hammock Bay Golf Course at Hammock Bay is known for its tremendous assortment of holes and groomed turf. The course is 7,000 yards long and has a par of 72. It was designed by Bruce Devlin and Robert von Hagge in 2004. The rates in the high season can be rather steep, but it is comparatively affordable in the off-season.
Finally, the Lely Resort Golf and Country Club is based just southeast of Naples and has been in operation since 1991. The course is part of a full resort which boasts 2 further championship courses, 3 resort style pools, 7 tennis courts, a spa and fitness center, 4 clubhouses, and 12 neighborhoods. The course is available to the community and has 7,217 yards of golf and a par of 72 . Centrally situated bed breakfasts are conveniently close to the golf courses as well as the seashore. If not everyone in your family wants to spend their days golfing, Naples is also home to some of the finest beaches on the Gulf Coast, exceptional shopping, and a relaxed night life with excellent restaurants, lounges, and clubs.
Tonight We Strike The Trail
Hiking in Pennsylvania is not like hiking in the Rockies or High Sierra and that’s a wondrous thing! A hiking adventure in the Keystone State has a much different experience in a venerable portion of the country that is drenched in native and human history in America’s eastern woodland region. From a Pennsylvania cabin rental in Butler County or elsewhere in the scenic Alleghenies, one can find abundant opportunities not only for hiking and backpacking, but for a diverse range of outdoor activities ranging from fishing and wildlife watching to whitewater rafting and canoeing.
There are also hiking trails in Pennsylvania for all ages and fitness ranges. If you are just getting started, the Clarion-Little Toby Creek Rail Trail is a skillfully marked, easy route that parallels the Clarion River for almost twenty miles. As an old railbed, the trail is quite level and therefore an easy hike and is apt for biking in the spring, summer and fall months and cross-country skiing in the fall. With two tremendous entry areas from bed and breakfasts in the picturesque and historic towns of Ridgway and Brockway, the Clarion trail is an exceptional starting point for viewing the Pennsylvania countryside on foot.
Speaking of beautiful hikes, you are no doubt familiar with Arizona’s Grand Canyon but did you know that Pennsylvania had its own Grand Canyon as well? The Pine Creek Rail Trail is a different old railbed and as a result a level, comfortable hike that extends the length of the Keystone State’s breathtaking Pine Creek Gorge. Set up your base of operations from one of the cabin rental accommodations in Colton Point, then start up the gorge and take part in a treat for the senses that contain ancient rock formations and spectacular waterfalls in a thriving deciduous woodland teeming with wildlife. A person can almost imagine what the region was like 300 years ago, when the continent west of the Appalachian Mountain range was unspoiled wilderness.
Folks who are visiting Pennsylvania for the first time may consider going to Keystone Ramblers, a website that is a comprehensive guide to hiking in that state. In addition to a guide to various hiking experiences, you will discover information on issues such as stretching, nourishment and equipment as well as potential hazards such as poison ivy and oak. This group also organizes guided group hiking tours for those who are interested.
Another online resource for Pennsylvania hiking tours is Pennsylvania Hiking and Trekking Tours. This site features links to businesses and organizations offering set tours, which could be a good alternative for newcomers to the state.
