To help you lighten your luggage, use sample size cosmetics and toiletries when you pack. If you don’t need a full size bottle of shampoo, there is no reason to carry it across the country. Consider flying on holidays if you are looking for a cheaper fare. Many people do not want to deal with the hassle of being in an airport on a holiday so flights are usually much cheaper. If you plan an early morning flight, you will not miss any of the holiday festivities.
Whenever taking a long flight, there are a few things that should never be forgotten. To combat a noisy baby or boisterous snorer, earplugs are a tiny life-saver. To combat the cold, a pair of socks and a sweatshirt that doubles as a pillow in a cinch are worthy investments in your carry-on. Finally, for a nice pick-me-up after a long flight, a small travel-size toothbrush and tube of toothpaste can be life-renewing!
Consider joining a travel and motor club to provide you with travel assistance. Not only do these types of clubs provide towing, they offer maps, travel planning, insurance, travelers checks, lockout assistance and more. As a bonus, many hotels and attractions offer discounts to members. The cost of membership can pay for itself when you save money on all these things.
Protect your liquids from spilling when you travel with a homemade bottle stopper. Before screwing the cap on your travel-sized toiletries, cover the top with a small piece of plastic removed from a plastic shopping bag. This will both protect your clothes from the liquid and keep the liquid inside its container.
If you take the time now to prepare for your next trip, you can save yourself a lot of trouble and headaches that you may be accustomed to. Putting these tips and suggestions to good use will allow you to have a wonderful time traveling without thinking about whether or not you left the stove on.
